THE MBS TEAM EXPERIENCE

Our team is remote, not because COVID forced us into it, but because at our company's core, we believe in doing work we love that fits our lifestyles.

MBS is a membership-based professional networking group on a mission to help connect mothers who’re growing careers and families. We’re a small but mighty team, and we’re looking to add to our fam.

You can learn more about what we do in our business at motherboardsociety.com

You can expect…

✓ More autonomy and freedom than you've ever had before. You will have the opportunity to work independently and define your role. We get it; people hate being micromanaged, but here's the twist: our management actually hates micromanaging people too! We have no desire to check over your shoulder to watch all your work and review tasks every 5 minutes. #inefficient. You'll have a lot of freedom and independence to produce the expected results in your own way in this role.

✓ Our office is virtual. Work from home, Starbucks, Stateside or while wandering around the world, it makes no difference to us. As long as you do the job well and on time, every time—we want you to work in the place that brings you the most joy. No more commuting, no more spending your pay checks on outfits to then go earn more pay checks, and no more having to ask permission to be able to leave the office for a dentist appointment or to renew your driver's license. While this role is 100% remote, it does require you to have solid Wifi at pretty much all times. So if you live in the middle of nowhere and your idea of a rad vacation is to go on trips to national parks with no internet service for weeks at a time, this role won't be a good fit for you.

✓ We're not big on stress. So, while we will expect you to work efficiently and get things done, we focus on open communication and getting things done right the first go around. Once you're trained up, we are not big on double-checking your work or having a bunch of back and forths just to get a task done - we would love for you to take charge and get 'er done the best way you know how!

✓ The hours are super flexible (within reason, obviously!). More of a night owl? Want to go for a 12-noon yoga class? Have kids you need to drop off at school at 8:30 AM sharp? No problem! We'll work with your schedule to get a routine that works for you and us. Preference is given to someone who can be available sometime between 2-6pm CST.

✓ No politics, be yourself! In case you haven't noticed, we're not big on politics or acting in traditional corporate ways. We have a lovely environment where instead of taking credit for other people's ideas and backstabbing our way to the top we're all working towards improving the company and growing ourselves and our roles that way. 💃

✓ Equal Opportunity. MOTHERboard Society is an equal opportunity employer. As we are a working mom community and our dream applicant would be a mother, we value and celebrate diversity. All employment decisions are made on the basis of merit, business need, and position fit.

About the Operations Manager Position

MBS is looking for a part-time (that will eventually turn into full-time) Operations Manager to support the growth of the business and the day-to-day maintenance and tasks. Under the direction of our Founder, the goal of this role is to keep our operations running smoothly and our CEO not tied down so she can focus on supporting our chapter Co-Presidents and expanding our reach.

This role is perfect for you if…

✓ If you are someone who has a passion for a business's back-end (operations) and does not want to be a face or marketing part of a company.

✓You adore all things organization, and being 'detail keeper' to someone else's 'big picture dreamer' is totally your jam.

✓ You're a boss at figuring things out for yourself. You love a good problem-solving sesh, you're the queen of wearing multiple hats, and you've even managed to teach yourself some pretty impressive tech skills when needed.

✓ You are a total creative at heart, but you also have a knack for creating super sexy, streamlined processes.

✓ Leading you team with a positive attitude? No problem. You are genuinely thoughtful, lead with kindness, and give grace to yourself and others.

✓ You bring non-stop positive vibes and not even the (rare) Grump-a-sauras 🦖 is going to rain on your parade. 🙅‍♀️

✓ You're one of those weird 'Inbox on 0' people. Emails never go unanswered, and you unsubscribe from spam and clutter the moment it hits your inbox.  Need to hunt down some random receipt months later? No stress. Thanks to your Inbox OCD and strategic use of labels, you know exactly where to find it.

✓ You have strong attention to detail and design. You can spot a typo from a mile away. And crooked graphics or broken links?—Not on your watch. Plus, you have some pretty slick skills in making content look and feel high-end.👀  Pssst! Have yet to try your hand at editing? 🙈 No big. You're committed to learning everything you need to know to deliver a jaw-dropping finished product so that no one will ever have to know you're not already pro. 💪

✓ You're down to tag team where needed, but you secretly love being able to fully own ( or support) a project from start > finish.

✓ You're a strong communicator (both verbal and written).

✓ You NEVER miss a deadline and never has a boss, teacher, parent, team member, etc. complained about how you 'don't show up when you're supposed to' or 'are always dropping the ball.' You're relentlessly reliable, never needing to be reminded of a task, can be counted on come hell or high water and will go the extra mile to help the team when necessary.

✓ You're an independent worker and have the ability to take direction and run with ideas effectively.

✓ You are coachable and open to feedback - you understand it's how we grow!

✓You are a learner at heart and professional development has become innate.

✓ You are resourceful. This is a must.

✓ You're polished, and no drama… and still know how to have a good time at work! 🎉

✓ You are ready to go all-in with your ideal place to work! You are a strong communicator (both verbal and written).

You are creative, and enjoy bringing new ideas to the table. If you know a better way to do something -- we're all ears and value your feedback and expertise! While we have a vision for the business, we're always open to doing things better! If you have specific expertise in something, let us know! We count on you to be part of making your piece of the pie run smoother and better!
